Feeding Calculator
This raw pet food calculator serves as a general guide to the suggested amount to be fed daily. Just like us, everyone is different and the amount to be fed should be adjusted to the individual needs and not based strictly on a formula.
The weight you use should be based on their IDEAL weight and not their current weight.
You may like to refer to the Body Condition Score Dog or Body Condition Score Cat to know what to look for in an ideal weight score and adjust the amount you are feeding to achieve the ideal body weight.
We use 1 year old as a general guide for adult dogs although large breeds tend to only reach maturity at about 1.5 years while small breeds usually reach maturity earlier. These are factors that can distort the feeding amount.
Kittens tend to have enormous appetites. It will usually taper off after about 7 months. It is typically recommended to allow a kitten to eat as much as they want and some kittens can eat up to 10% or more of their body weight. If you've used our calculator and find your kitten asking for more, you may like to offer some additional food.
